Why did you decide to attend CSM?
I decided to attend CSM after coming to campus and getting a tour from a current student…during the tour I noticed that the students really seemed to be engaged with their professors…they seemed very involved. Plus, the atmosphere that the campus gave off was that of a home and a community…and I really appreciated that.

How have you changed since coming to CSM?
Some ways that I’ve changed since coming to CSM include being more outspoken with my opinion…I’ve been able to take on more leadership roles on campus…During high school, I kind of tended to shy away from leadership roles because guys tended to dominate them…but here, because this is an all-girls’ school – that’s not a problem, so I’m able to have more confidence in myself when seeking those roles.

What are two of your favorite places on campus?
My two favorite places on campus are the Education Lab in Walsh and the Residence Halls. I like the Education Lab because it resembles a classroom and it reminds me of all the reasons I enjoy working in the classrooms. I like the Residence Halls because I go there to relax in between classes and hang out with my friends.

Is there a specific faculty or staff member on campus that has already made an ‘impact’ on your life?
There have been two professors that have been helping me a lot at CSM…first is Bette-B Bauer, because she has taken an interest in me as a first-year student…I really appreciate that she has opened so many doors for me and has introduced me to other faculty members so they can get to know me as a student.

The other professor is Dr. Melanie Felton, one of my education professors…She has made a great impact on me because she has given me advice and guidance as to how to handle myself as a future educator.
