Extra-Curricular Activities:
Member of the CSM Swim Team, Presidential Ambassador
Future Goals:
Earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing and pursue a career in that field
Why did you decide to attend CSM?
One of the big points that attracted me to CSM was the nursing program… I like that I can earn my associate’s degree after two years and start working as a nurse and then keep going to get my bachelor’s degree with more experience…
Another big thing that influenced me was seeing kids on campus…when I came to visit that was a nice, fresh aspect on this campus…It was kind of neat to see that CSM cares and gives single Moms the opportunity to get an education and raise their kids….
How have you changed since coming to CSM?
I can tell I’m more confident because now I can have a conversation with someone I’ve just met and that was something I could never really do before…
What is one of your favorite places on campus?
One of my favorite places is the Hillmer Art Gallery…I really enjoy seeing all of the local art that is showcased there and it’s a nice, peaceful place to relax between classes…
Is there a specific faculty or staff member on campus that has already made an ‘impact’ on your life?
I’d say Dr. Mary Kay Smid, one of the nursing instructors…she’s a pretty great woman. I have class with her this year and you can tell she loves what she does…she tries to get you involved in the discussion instead of just lecturing to you…
