Softball – Inducted into CSM Athletic Hall of Fame (2005)
Current Position:
Employment Advertising Sales Manager at the Omaha World-Herald
What made you decide to attend CSM?
At that time, CSM was one of the few colleges that offered the program I was looking for…and the fact that they were a Catholic-based institution was important to me. Plus, I played softball and was able to get a scholarship to play at CSM. It all came together.
Do you have any specific memories that stick out from your time at CSM?
We had the best experience on our softball team. My sophomore year we actually made it to nationals – and my senior year we had the opportunity to go and play in Hawaii. Softball was one of the key factors that helped me develop leadership skills and appreciate how to be part of a team.
How do you think your time/experience at CSM shaped your career?
CSM was instrumental in what I do now. They are excellent at giving you the knowledge and experience you need for roles of leadership, and showing you how to lead a group of diverse people. They truly set you up to succeed as a woman leader in any company.
Any ‘words of wisdom’ for someone just starting their professional career?
I would tell them to remember that every job is important, no matter how small it may seem to you at the time. Gain every single bit of experience you can from every single job you have. I truly believe you can take something from every job and use it moving forward.
