RHIA Registered Health Information Administrator with the American Health Information Management Association 

M.Ed.  Masters in Education was obtained from the University of Illinois at Urbanna-Champaign. 

B.S.    Medical Record Administration was obtained from    the University of Illinois at Chicago. 

  

Biography: 

I have been the Director of the HIM programs at College of Saint Mary since 1980 and in HIM Education since 1975. During that time, the College has added to the existing Bachelor's program an Associate Degree and Medical Coding and Reimbursement Specialist Programs (offered in an every other weekend format. I am regarded as a leader in HIM education.  I am very active in the national and state health information management association serving on numerous councils and committees as well as giving presentations to this group. My special area of interest is privacy and confidentiality of health information, Electronic Personal Health Records and Consumer Health Informalities.
