JOB SUMMARY:
Provides clinical instruction to students in the Practical
Nurse Program.
Employee is responsible to the Nursing Program Director. This position shall be
filled with a hourly salaried employee.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor
Degree in Nursing required; a Master's Degree in Nursing
preferred, or enrolled in master's program with plan and progress towards
completion required.
EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years experience preferred in clinical nursing
practice.
Three years clinical experience in area(s) of teaching responsibility required.
PERSONAL:
Demonstrates a commitment to nursing and nursing
education.
Preference will be given to person with strong interpersonal skills.
PROFESSIONAL:
Currently licensed in good standing as a registered nurse
in Nebraska or a compact
state. Appropriate professional role model. Membership and
participation in professional organizations is desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides clinical supervision in
nursing lab or clinical setting. Meets clinical agency requirements
for faculty.
2. Maintains positive working
relationships with clinical facilities.
3. If teaching assignment is in
course with multiple faculty members, works cooperatively with course faculty
to accomplish course objectives.
4. Facilitates student achievement of
course outcomes by providing feedback verbally and in writing to student in
provided clinical evaluation format, accessible to students
questions and concerns.
5. Provides feedback to course
coordinator related to clinical experience.
6. Works cooperative with nursing
director, and other program faculty.
