Instructional
Technology Specialist
The purpose of this position is to
collaborate with faculty and staff to facilitate the development and delivery
of online and hybrid courses. This
position also ensures appropriate training on instructional technology hardware
and software in traditional classrooms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary
Responsibilities
·
Plays
a leadership role in assisting faculty with the design, development, and
transformation of teaching and learning in an online environment.
·
Provides
leadership for faculty and staff in the effective use of new and current
technologies for instructional purposes.
·
Demonstrate
on a regular basis the use of technology in the classroom to improve teaching
and learning.
·
Provide
sustained, in-depth professional development for campus staff which focuses on
the integration of technology and curriculum.
·
Develop
documentation, training materials and user guides for instructional
technologies.
·
Provide
frequent feedback to staff members and administrators regarding instructional
technology.
Secondary
Responsibilities
·
Responsible
for assisting the Help Desk in resolution of trouble calls for instructional
technology.
·
Responsible
for serving on CSM committees as directed.
·
Responsible
for continued technical and professional growth through hands on training, web
based training, and professional reading.
Additional
Responsibilities
·
Other
duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
·
Knowledge,
skills and abilities
·
Comprehensive
understanding of instructional development methodology, preferably with proven
experience assisting faculty in design of effective online and hybrid
instructional modules, courses, and programs is also required.
·
Excellent
analytical skills and the ability to convert information and needs into
practical training opportunities.
·
Knowledge
of course management systems, HTML, Flash, Streaming Media, and Web 2.0
technologies is a plus.
·
General
knowledge of networking, PC hardware and software, multimedia, Internet, and
computer science technology.
·
A
friendly personality with excellent communications skills (verbal, listening,
and written) in both technical and non-technical settings.
Physical
Requirements and Working Conditions

May
require some heavy lifting.
Education
·
Master's
degree in educational technology, instructional systems technology, or a
related field
Experience
·
Minimum
of five years of experience working with faculty in higher education.
·
Three
or more years of experience in the delivery of courses in an online learning
environment, preferably using ANGEL LMS.
