Beginning in the 2009-2010 award year, College of Saint Mary will participate in the Federal Direct Loan Program which enables students to borrow directly from the federal government. With this decision, CSM is no longer participating in the Federal Family Educational Loan Program in which federal students loan are borrowed from bank lenders. CSM researched the two federal student loan programs and during our research it became evident that the Direct Loan program was the better loan program for our students.

All new and continuing students will need to complete a new Master Promissory Note (MPN) and new Entrance Counseling for Stafford loans under the Federal Direct Loan Program, even if you already have an MPN with another lender.

All parents of new and continuing students will need to complete a new Master Promissory Note (MPN) for Parent PLUS loans under the Federal Direct Loan Program, even if you already have an MPN with another lender.

All new and continuing graduate students will need to complete a new Master Promissory Note (MPN) and new Entrance Counseling for Grad PLUS loans under the Federal Direct Loan Program, even if you already have an MPN with another lender.
