The College of Saint Mary Speech Team is looking forward to their THIRD season in the 2013-2014 academic year. Our goal is to build a rich and successful tradition of speaking excellence by producing confident, clear, ethical, and accomplished speakers. We compete at several tournaments hosted by area colleges each semester.
We have students competing in public address, interpretation, and limited preparation events. Your participation on the team will also earn you one hour of college credit each semester!
We offer generous participation awards for our speech team members.
All participants on the speech team earn an award commensurate with the number of years they have participated on the Speech Team.
- First year participants will earn $1000
- Second-year participants will earn $2000
- Third-year participants will earn $3000.
- Fourth-year participants will earn a $4000 award.
Continuation of awards from Semester 1 to Semester 2 and year to year is contingent upon successfully meeting team expectations and maintaining a 2.5 GPA. Specific expectations are explained in more detail on the application pages accessed through the links below.
