Every Resident who lives in Lozier Tower is automatically a member of the Residence Hall Council (RHC). The purpose of RHC is for students to have a leadership opportunity and a voice in the residence halls. All students are responsible for paying an RHC fee during check-in that contributes to the enhancement of the residence hall experience. This fee helps in funding residence hall programming and items to check-out at the desk.
Informational meetings are held in September for residents to get more involved in RHC and the halls. RHC programming includes Trick or Treating in the Halls, Mid-terms and Finals programming, and Care Packages. In MLL the Mother’s Activity Council plays a similar role.
Become a Resident Advisor
Being an RA is a great leadership position on campus! Each spring, we hold interviews for students to become RAs the next year and for the summer. These are undergraduate students that have completed at least 24 credit hours by August, are in good standing with the college, have at least a 2.5 GPA and have lived in a residence hall for at least one semester. Each candidate goes through an application process, group interview and a group process activity.
RAs are responsible for holding weekend and evening duty, attending staff meetings, and serving as a resource to residents in the building. RAs also lead floor meetings and organize floor and building-wide programming. Finally, RAs ensure students are familiar with college and residence hall policies. Look for more information about this opportunity in mid-Spring!
