College of Saint Mary established the CSMAdvantage program specifically designed with first-year students in mind.  All of us at CSM want to make sure each student has a successful start to the academic year; however, we know some students have unique challenges transitioning into college-level courses.

While College of Saint Mary accepts new students because of their potential to succeed, our experience indicates that additional resources are very helpful in ensuring students achievement.  CSMAdvantage is designed to enhance a student's college experience through academic planning, skill assessment and goal setting, while receiving individual support for her first two semesters at CSM. 

The kick-off for CSMAdvantage is a four day event before classes start in August called CSMAdvantage Days.  Participants meet new students in a small-group setting and get to know staff and faculty.  They also benefit from a skill assessment workshop and sessions on academic preparation, goal-setting, and team-building activities.  It is a valuable educational opportunity, as well as a fun-packed experience.
