Omaha, Neb. - On Sunday, May 17, at 10:30 a.m., College of Saint Mary (CSM) will celebrate its 91th Commencement in the CenturyLink Center where 273 students will participate in graduation activities. This year’s Commencement speaker, Dr. Carolyn Woo, is President and CEO of Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the international humanitarian agency serving more than 100 million people in nearly 100 countries on five continents.

Dr. Woo has been featured in Foreign Policy magazine as one of the 500 Most Powerful people on the planet and one of the 33 in the category of "a force for good." Her monthly column for Catholic News Service took first place in the 2013 Catholic Press Association Awards.

Before Catholic Relief Services, she served as the dean of the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. Under her leadership, the Mendoza College achieved number 1 ranking (BusinessWeek/Bloomberg) in 2010 and 2011. Before that, Dr. Woo served as Associate Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Purdue University, her alma mater.

Dr. Woo earned her Bachelor's in Economics with highest distinction and honors, Master of Science in Industrial Administration with award as Krannert Scholar and Ph.D. — all from Purdue University.

College of Saint Mary will be hosting a Coffee with Dr. Woo on Monday, May 18th from 9 – 10 a.m. in the CSM Hillmer Art Gallery (7000 Mercy Road, Omaha, Neb.) this event will be free and open to the public.
