College of Saint Mary Launches Online Doctor of Education Degree

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

OMAHA, Neb. - College of Saint Mary (CSM) will launch an online Doctor of Education degree in June for career-driven, degree-seeking professionals. Students in the three-year program can choose from two emphases: Health Professions Education or Educational Leadership.

“The Health Professions Education track is perfect for the working healthcare professional who wants to teach in higher education or is looking to be an education director in a medical facility. Educational Leadership is designed for the professional who is eager to assume leadership in the field of education or within their business or corporation,” explained Dr. Christine Pharr, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Courses will be presented via CSM’s online learning platform ANGEL with supplemental coursework and meetings with faculty through WebEx, CSM’s synchronous communication platform. In addition, scholarly work and research are essential components of the program and will be tailored to each student’s professional goals.

Prospective students are encouraged to participate in an Online Information Session on Tuesday, February 24, at 5 p.m. Students will learn about the curriculum, program support and financial aid. To register for the Online Information Session or apply for the program, visit CSM.edu.

CSM has been approved to offer online programs by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. CSM has also completed the State Authorization Reciprocity Network (SARA) application and been accepted for membership.
