Dr. Nat Hardy receives prestigious Royal Society for the Arts Fellowship

OMAHA, Neb. – Dr. Nat Hardy, associate dean of arts, sciences and professional studies at College of Saint Mary (CSM), has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in recognition of his notable contributions in Literature and the Arts.

Based in London and founded in 1754, the RSA is a worldwide enlightenment organization which is committed to finding innovative, practical solutions to today’s social challenges. Through its ideas, research and 28,000-strong Fellowship, it seeks to understand and enhance human capability so we can close the gap between today’s reality and people’s hopes for a better world.

To become a Fellow in the RSA, an applicant must show examples from his or her personal or professional life that demonstrate the values of the Fellowship Charter of the RSA, which include independence, creativity, resourcefulness, consistency, respect and philanthropy.

As associate dean of arts, sciences and professional studies, Dr. Hardy serves as a member of the academic leadership team, oversees several undergraduate and graduate programs and works collaboratively with the program directors the vice president for academic affairs. Dr. Hardy has held previous academic positions at universities in the United States and Canada.

A life-long learner, Dr. Hardy is also an innovative writer and is dedicated to continually expanding his own knowledge. His specialties include Renaissance English literature, creative writing, medical humanities, service learning and publishing.
