Flames launch new year with pep rally

Tuesday, August 21, 2018

OMAHA, NEB. – A growing excitement surrounding Flames Athletics was on full display Monday at the annual all-athlete meeting and pep rally.  Student-athletes and coaches from all 10 College of Saint Mary (CSM) athletic programs were introduced and celebrated at the event.

After welcoming student-athletes to campus, CSM leaders passed on advice, gave well-wishes, and shared the College’s growing vision for College of Saint Mary Athletics. Speakers highlighted CSM’s strategic goal to maximize Flame Athletics while amplifying the life changing leadership and character-building opportunities that come from competition.

The pep rally comes at an exciting time for athletic programs at CSM. With a strategic plan to grow out athletics in recent years and emphasize the powerful opportunities programs like athletics can provide for women, CSM added bowling and dance as new programs last year. The College has also invested in several facilities and resources for student-athletes and the community as of late, including major softball field renovations in 2018 and soccer field upgrades that are currently underway.

After the all-athlete meeting, the campus and broader community was welcomed into CSM’s Lied Fitness Center for a pep rally celebration. Fall sports at CSM have already started competition for the 2018-19 season. For more about CSM Athletics, visit csmflames.com.
