Inaugural swim season underway
at College of Saint Mary
Practice for the first-ever CSM swim team is in full swing with 14
athletes taking to the pool under the guidance of head coach Rich Draper. The
team will participate in nine meets during its first year of competition,
including the first-ever collegiate swim
meet to be held on the CSM campus this Friday, November 13, versus the
University of Nebraska-Kearney. Also, in
preparation for the inaugural season, the CSM pool underwent some
transformations with the installation of a new tile deck, electronic timing
system and new scoreboard.
CSM offers information to students on dealing with
debt
This Wednesday, CSM and the National Student Loan Plan will offer a workshop
for students on how to determine the difference between good and bad debt, the
consequences of debt, and other related topics. The workshop will be held in
the Hillmer Art Gallery at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
SAV to host Pancake Feed this Saturday, Nov. 14,
to combat domestic violence
Students Against Violence
(SAV) at CSM will host a pancake feed this Saturday, Nov. 14, to raise funds to
help combat domestic violence in the Omaha community. SAV is a student group
whose mission is to provide awareness and education about domestic violence to
the CSM community, and raise funds to help community-based domestic violence
programs. The event runs from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and will feature The Pancake
Man. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children, and free for age three and
younger.
Eye
of Collector exhibit opens this week in Hillmer Art Gallery
An exhibit featuring
artwork from the private collections of a number of Omaha-area art enthusiasts
will open this Friday, Nov. 13, in the Hillmer Art Gallery. The exhibit, The
Eye of the Collector, will be on display in the gallery through Dec. 20.
