CSM hires Sauser as new head cross country coach
College of Saint Mary is pleased to announce that Amy Sauser has been hired
as head cross country coach for the University.
The new Flames' coach comes to CSM from Skutt Catholic High School
where she was the varsity swim coach. Other past coaching positions include assistant
varsity swim coach at Marian High School; head age group coach at Heartland
Aquatics; and volunteer assistant cross country coach at Indianola (Ia.) High
School. Sauser is also a certified USA
swim coach, a member of the Nebraska Coaches Association, and a member of the
U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
"I am excited and honored to be joining the College of
Saint Mary athletic department," said Sauser. "The University's programs have
had a history of greatness, and I look forward to contributing to that
success."
Sauser holds a bachelor's degree in secondary education and English
from the University of Nebraska, and is currently working towards a master's
degree in English at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
In addition to her coaching duties, Sauser is a full-time teacher in
the Millard Public Schools system where she is one of four Advanced Placement
Teachers in the English department.
"Amy is passionate about coaching and will be a tremendous
asset at CSM in developing young women and helping them reach their full
potential in both athletics and academics," said Steve Schneider, CSM athletic
director.
