Meet the Faculty
Dr. Griffiths joined the CSM faculty summer 2012, and teaches coursework related to psychosocial issues in occupational therapy (OT). Dr. Griffiths earned a BSOT from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington and a Masters degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma. She completed her OTD from Creighton University in 1999 and has also earned advanced certification as a Master Practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming. Since 1977, her area of OT practice has been mental health. Most of her research has focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning, and in 2005, she completed a multifaceted study examining the national status of the OTD degree. Contact Yolanda
Contact Cristy Dr. Cristy Daniel OTR/L, has taught courses in kinesiology, theories of motor learning, adult life span, activity analysis, and Level I and II fieldwork. She has presented at the state and national level on designing successful fieldwork experiences. Dr. Daniel earned her B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University and a Masters in Health Services Administration from College of Saint Francis. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Education at CSM. She joined the CSM faculty in 2005.
Dr. Kristin Hass, OTD, OTR/L, ABD, has taught coursework that includes foundations of health care, healthcare ethics, theory, research, assessment, clinical reasoning, therapeutic reasoning, educational principles, advanced theory and health promotion. She earned a B.S. in Mathematics and Biology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a Masters in Occupational Therapy (OT) from Midwestern University, Post-Professional Doctorate in OT from the University of St. Augustine and is currently pursuing doctoral studies at CSM. Dr. Haas joined the University in 2003.  Contact Kristin
Contact Amy Amy De Luise, MOS, OTR/L, joined CSM faculty in 2013 as the lab coordinator for the OT department.  She graduated from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA with a BS/MS in occupational therapy in 2009.  She brings 4 years of clinical experience focused primarily in hand therapy.  She is also certified in work steps strategies to test employees on their ability to complete job duties and/or return to job duties after an illness/injury. She is currently pursuing her Ed.D. with an emphasis in healthcare education.
After serving as an adjunct faculty member from 2009-2011, Melissa Kimmerling, MOT, OTR/L, was promoted to a full-time faculty position in the occupational therapy(OT) department in the summer of 2011. She first became part of the CSM community as a student, earning her BA in General Studies in 2006 and her Masters in OT in 2007. Professor Kimmerling also holds certifications in Physical Agent Modalities and Kinesiotaping as well as clinical experience in Acute Care, Acute Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing. She is also currently enrolled in CSM’s Ed.D. program with anticipated graduation in May 2013. Contact Mary Mary Smith, MOT, OTR/L, teaches courses in adult and elderly lifespan, management and leadership, introduction to occupational therapy (OT), occupational performance capacity, assessment and performance lab, and selected studies. She has over 10 years of clinical experience with an emphasis on inpatient adult acute rehabilitation. Professor Smith is certified in both physical agent modalities and kinesiotaping. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a B.S. in OT from Creighton University and a PBMOT from CSM. She is currently pursuing her Ed.D. with an emphasis in healthcare education. She joined CSM in 2010.
Maureen Hoppe, MA, OTR/L, has taught courses in gerontology, adult lifespan lab, occupational performance capacity lab, cognition and perception, as well as fieldwork courses. She has extensive experience in geriatrics and occupational therapy management. Professor Hoppe earned a BSOT from Creighton University in 1993 and a Masters of Arts in Health Education as well as a Graduate Certificate of Specialization in Gerontology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Professor Hoppe is certified in physical agent modalities and is currently pursuing her Ed.D. with an emphasis in health professions education. She joined the CSM faculty in 2007. Contact Maureen
Contact Michelle Michelle Massey, MS OTR/L joined CSM fall of 2013. She has 19 years of experience with primary emphasis in pediatrics. Massey graduated from D’Youville College with a B.S. and M.S. in Occupational Therapy. She previously has taught as clinical faculty at USC and Adjunct Faculty at Creighton University. Massey brings a wealth of knowledge in the field of pediatrics including advanced coursework in feeding and swallowing, handwriting without tears, NDT and sensory processing. She is currently pursuing her Ed.D. with emphasis in health care education at CSM.
