Dr. Sorsen’s research focuses topology, with particular interest in knot theory, including braids and open book decompositions. She also conducts research in mathematics education, emphasizing strategies to increase students’ confidence and motivation in math. At the College of Saint Mary, she is passionate about teaching and introducing students to the beauty of mathematics. She is committed to encouraging students from all backgrounds to pursue careers in STEM fields.
