Partnership with ICAN Creates Leadership Pathway for Women

CSM President Heather Smith signs an agreement with ICAN President and CEO Aileen Warren

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary (CSM) has partnered with the Institute for Career Advancement Needs (ICAN) to expand leadership pathways for women in the Omaha community.

“College of Saint Mary is uniquely positioned to serve as Omaha’s college home for women’s leadership. Through partnerships with organizations that support girls, women, athletes, professionals, entrepreneurs and civic leaders, CSM is building a connected pathway from early confidence to college success to workforce and community leadership. ICAN is a natural fit, and we are thrilled to call them our partner,” said CSM President Heather Smith.

The partnership with CSM creates a seamless academic pathway from ICAN’s leadership programs into CSM’s Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL).

ICAN provides leadership development through immersive programs. They offer in-person and virtual courses, custom programs for companies and organizations, and one-on-one coaching. They also host the annual ICAN Women’s Leadership Conference.

“This partnership shows an investment in improving and strengthening the leadership in our community. We want to see leaders who are more authentic, compassionate and willing to be courageous and who take risks that will better their business and the community,” said Aileen Warren, president and CEO of ICAN. “We believe the impact will be strong and visible and have very positive results in the business community.”

Graduates of ICAN’s Defining Leadership course receive a $5,000 tuition discount and three credit hours toward an MSOL degree.

CSM’s 12-month online MSOL program provides practical, real-world leadership development that can be applied immediately in the workplace. Students learn about organizational behavior, strategy, change management and team leadership, and gain communication and decision-making skills. The program’s curriculum is rooted in the values and mission of CSM, ensuring graduates can lead teams and organizations with integrity and purpose.

Successful completion of the MSOL program also provides a path to earning a Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) credential.
