Nursing education at the College of Saint Mary began in 1969 with the establishment of the ASN program. The Practical Nursing Program and Associate Degree Nursing Programs are approved by the Nebraska State Board of Nursing. In addition, the ASN and BSN programs are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).  College of Saint Mary currently offers four undergraduate programs in Nursing.  

  

 

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS  

 

Practical Nursing Program (PN) 

·         Designed as a day program 

·         Program can be completed in one year, beginning in the summer semester 

 

Licensed Practical Nurse to Associate Degree in Nursing (LPN-ASN)  

·         Designed as a day program 

·         Advanced Placement in the RN program may be achieved through successful passing of standardized exams    

·         Program can be completed in one calendar year, beginning in the summer semester 

  

Associate Degree Program (ASN) 

·         Completed in either a Nursing 2 Track (two-year program) or Nursing 3 Track (three-year program).  At the completion of either program, you are eligible to submit an application for RN licensure 

·         Faculty to student ratio of 1:8 

·         Simulation experiences in many clinical courses including Fundamentals, OB, Pediatrics, and advanced Med-surgical 

·         NCLEX pass rate consistently above national average 

·         Podcasts available of class lectures  

·         100% job placement rate 

  

Bachelor Degree (RN-BSN) 

·        Courses can be completed in a minimum of one calendar year, depending upon the student having completed the required Core Curriculum courses 

·        May complete the BSN Program through full-time study or by pursuing part-time study over a longer period of time 

·        On-campus or Hybrid (some online and some class time) sections available 

·        On-campus sections all scheduled for one day  

·         Podcasts available of class lectures   

·         Designed as a day course for Registered Nurses that have their Associate Degree to complete their studies for a Bachelor Degree
