Nursing

The MSN degree is a 36 credit hour (semester) program. It is designed to prepare Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates as expert teachers and leaders in higher education, continuing education, educational staff development or patient education. The MSN program can be completed in four semesters and is delivered in a hybrid format (includes both on-campus meetings and web-based enhancements). The program is offered on both a full-time and part-time basis.

MSN program benefits and special features

  • Hybrid design

Includes both on-campus meetings with web-based enhancements and independent study. Within this design, a bond emerges that extends beyond the classroom for busy Registered Nurses.

  • Academic Integrity course

Because College of Saint Mary is an institution committed to the works, values and aspirations of the Sisters of Mercy, a unique course, Academic Integrity, is integral to the MSN program. The ethical issues that surround an academic career are explored.

  • Evidenced-based curriculum

Evidenced-based literature is an essential component of the MSN program. Access to the literature may be conducted online utilizing electronic library resources. As always, the library serves as a repository of important documents to be used in research efforts.

  • Creative Thinking

MSN students are encouraged to creatively think about academic and educational concepts and issues.

  • Terminal-degreed faculty

All full-time faculty members have earned a terminal degree (e.g.  Ph.D., Ed. D., J.D.) within their area of expertise.

In accordance with Title IX of the Education Act Amendments of 1972, College of Saint Mary admits women and men into all post-baccalaureate programs, including graduate programs. All students, regardless of gender, are given the same levels of support, guidance and education that have distinguished CSM's all-women's undergraduate programs
