CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund Grant
College of Saint Mary takes seriously our mission to provide education that is accessible and affordable. We care for you and are working to support our campus community through this difficult time. We have applied for and received funding from the federal government through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), which provided money to assist with costs related to the disruption of campus operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
HEERF - Student Emergency Aid Grants
With the federal funding received through the HEERF grant, the University provided almost $530,000 in emergency financial aid grants to eligible students to assist them with costs related to the Covid-19 pandemic. Details regarding the award process and grants disbursed are provided in the report below.
HEERF - Institutional Expenses
The University received two installments through the HEERF grant which may be used to assist with costs and losses incurred by the institution as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The first installment was awarded under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act, and the second installment was awarded under Section 18004(a)(2) of the CARES Act. Details regarding the use of these funds to date are provided in the reports below.
Ongoing Financial Need
While CSM’s deadline for applying for the HEERF funds has passed, we do have a limited amount of funding reserved for emergency situations. Please contact Financial Aid at finaid [at] csm.edu if you are a student in need of emergency funding.
