CSM hosts inaugural Trail Blazer 2 Mile Walk fundraiser Sept. 15

Thursday, August 31, 2017

OMAHA, NEB. – College of Saint Mary will host its inaugural Flames Trail Blazer 2-Mile Walk on Friday, Sept. 15. The walk will celebrate Flames Athletics and the leadership development demonstrated in each of our athletic programs.

“We’re really excited about hosting this event for the first time,” said Peter Haze Haring, Director of Athletics. “We encourage the public to take this opportunity to engage with the Flames community and have a positive impact on our athletic programs!”

All funds raised will directly contribute to scholarships and facility improvements. This event comes off the heels of the College’s first-ever pep rally held last week as the excitement of CSM athletics continues to grow. With the addition of two new sports this year, the Flames now compete in basketball, bowling, competitive dance, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis and volleyball.

The walk begins in the CSM Plaza and then follows Omaha’s scenic Keystone Trail before circling back to campus for the finish. Participants will check in from 5:15-5:40 with the walk set to start at 5:45 p.m. Registration costs $25 per person and includes dinner, a Trail Blazer T-shirt, and one free drink ticket (for ages 21 and over). Teams of five receive a discounted rate of $100 per team.

Enjoy food, beverages, and music in the Plaza immediately following the walk. The entrance fee is waived for children 12 and under. Dinner is $5 per child. Baby strollers and dogs will be permitted during the walk.

To register, go online to www.CSMFlames.com/TRAILBLAZER.

The event is sponsored by Access Bank and Ideal Images.
