Monday, October 9, 2017

College of Saint Mary (CSM) recently inducted Jennifer Allison ’95, of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Kerry Keegan Ahl '97 of Cedar Creek, Nebraska, into the CSM Athletic Hall of Fame. With this distinction, Allison and Kerry join an elite group of CSM’s most celebrated athletic achievers.

Jennifer Allison

In her four-year career as a tennis standout at CSM, Allison was a four-time NAIA National Tournament singles qualifier. After going undefeated in both singles and doubles competition during her freshman season, she went on to become a two-time NAIA District 11 Women’s Player of the Year honoree, three-time NAIA District 11 singles and doubles champion, and recipient of the 1992 CSM Flames Athlete of the Year award.

Allison continues to carry the virtues she learned during her college experience at CSM into the community. She has combined her athletic expertise with a passion to serve, contributing as an active participant within the Omaha tennis community through the United States Tennis Association (USTA). She currently resides in Bellevue, Nebraska, where she has worked as a paralegal at Haley Real Estate Group for the past 20 years.

“It is an honor,” said Keegan Ahl. “I was caught off guard. I played with so many great athletes; getting the phone call saying that I was being awarded meant a lot. “

During her four-year softball career at CSM, from 1993 through 1997, Keegan Ahl earned NAIA Second Team All-American honors twice. A three-time MCAC First Team All-Conference selection and an NAIA All-Midwest Region Second Team honoree, she helped the Flames to a two-year combined total of 83 wins during her junior and senior seasons. She also led the Flames to two separate NAIA Regional Tournament berths throughout her career.

As a major contributor to the Flames’ success, Keegan Ahl finished her collegiate career with a .425 batting average, a .450 on-base percentage, and a .982 fielding percentage in the outfield. She credits much of her success both on the field and in the professional world to her experience at CSM.

“Being a college athlete, you have to be organized and confident,” said Keegan Ahl. “CSM gave me the confidence to be who I was and to be a leader; Being a leader on the field transferred into the workforce and the household.”

Kerry currently resides in Cedar Creek with her family. Recently retired, in order to spend more time with family, she spent the previous 20 years serving the community through the healthcare field.
