Monday, August 18, 2025

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary (CSM) will welcome new and returning students to campus with activities and informational sessions during Welcome Days August 16-24.

Events planned for Welcome Days aim to help students succeed academically and socially throughout their college experience.

“Welcome Days is more than just a calendar of fun events, it’s the start of students’ College of Saint Mary story. These events are designed to help incoming students connect with their peers, learn the ins and outs of campus life and discover all the ways students can get involved as a Flame,” said Marisa Mathews, director of Student Engagement and Leadership. “From the New Flame Mixer to the Y2K Dance Party and the Fall Fest Picnic, each event is an opportunity to make new friends, build community and start to feel at home here at CSM.”

Welcome Days events include a campus farmer’s market, a dive-in movie at the Lied Fitness Center swimming pool, a Y2K dance party, a casino night, new student orientation, music bingo and an involvement fair.

New students will be welcomed to campus during Convocation, which will feature Jannette Taylor, CSM alum and the CEO of the Women’s Center for Advancement, as the featured speaker.

During the annual fall picnic, students, faculty, staff and their families will enjoy face painting, inflatables, raffle prizes, Kona Ice and more.

“The passion, enthusiasm and fun that Welcome Days brings is one of my favorite parts of my role and I am so excited to start the year off with a bang,” Mathews said.
