Mark your calendars for Homecoming Weekend

Monday, August 2, 2021

After last year's virtual College of Saint Mary Homecoming celebration, the anticipation for this year's in-person events is especially energizing.

"Our alumnae are eager to see one another in person, so we anticipate a terrific turnout," says Sara Titus, Director of Planned Giving and Stewardship at CSM, who's leading this year's Homecoming planning and events.

"Homecoming is a time when friends – old and new – gather to share memories and create new memories," she says. "There are opportunities for people of all ages to come together for a time to explore CSM as it is today on our vibrant, beautiful campus."

These opportunities include several exciting events that the Homecoming committee has planned.

Friday, September 10

The Alumnae and Community Art Show will be bigger than ever this year. Held on Friday, September 10, from 5 to 7 p.m., the show will feature live music and wine tasting for attendees to enjoy while viewing artwork by CSM alumnae, staff and friendsAt the same time, the BBQ on the Plaza will be going on, so for $5, guests can grab a bite to eat before viewing the art show or vice versa.

Then from 7 to 8:30 p.m., a live outdoor concert will be at the softball/soccer complex featuring 90s cover band, Glampire.

"The free concert will be a family-friendly event, and we encourage everyone to attend," said Titus.

After the concert, little sisters of current CSM resident students are invited to join their big sister for a fun night in the residence halls.

Saturday, September 11

The Homecoming festivities continue on Saturday, Sept.11, starting with a 9-11 remembrance at the CSM Prayer Garden from 8:45 to 9 a.m.

From 9 to 10 a.m. is the Walking Woman Wellness Hour. Alumnae are encouraged to grab their walking shoes and meet at CSM's soccer field, where they'll start a health-focused walk around the campus interior with CSM faculty, staff and students.

Guests can participate in a walking tour of campus and the new Lied Fitness Center Field House from 10 a.m. to noon. From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., CSM Athletics invites all current and former student-athletes to attend a special tour of the state-of-the-art facility.

On Saturday afternoon, from 3 to 4 p.m., guests can attend Totally RED, a terrific family-friendly play retelling Little Red Riding Hood put on by CSM Theatre. The production will be performed first in English, then in Spanish.

The day wraps up with 4:30 p.m. Founders Day Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel.

Sunday, September 12

And, finally, Sunday morning will offer opportunities for the 50th-anniversary classes (and other alumnae), as well as the Misericordia alumnae, to gather and reminisce.
