Dr. Christine Pharr

Pharr Tapped to Lead Institutional Advancement

Wednesday, August 26, 2015

OMAHA, Neb. –  After seven years of service as College of Saint Mary vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Christine Pharr boxed up her office and moved to the opposite side of Walsh Hall in early August.

Earlier this summer, President Maryanne Stevens named Pharr, a South Dakota native and chemist by profession, the new vice president for institutional advancement.

“Christine’s love for the University and passion for our mission is very evident,” Stevens said. “I’m excited that she’ll be making new and mutually-rewarding connections with alumnae and friends across the country.”

Pharr, who is well known for her outlandish science experiments and demonstrations at faculty orientations and celebrations, is eager to get started in her new position.

“I’m very proud of what the faculty have accomplished in terms of innovative teaching, new program development and service to students,” Pharr said. “I’m honored to have been part of such a committed group of educators and that makes it easy to share my love for the institution in this new role.”

Pharr will oversee a team of advancement professionals who seek support for student scholarships, capital projects and the University endowment.

“We’re passionate about College of Saint Mary success stories and eager for alumnae and friends to engage with us in continuing these amazing student achievements.” she said.
