Technology That Keeps You Totally Connected

The last thing you need to worry about on campus is being connected! We’ve got you covered with a full-service tech team dedicated to keeping our campus data network humming.

Every building on campus and all public spaces, including our main plaza, has a wireless connection with easy access from laptops, tablets, smart phones and other portable devices with compatible wireless cards.

When you enroll you’ll be given a College of Saint Mary email address and access to MyCSM, the College intranet where you can access schedules, grades and more.

To help make the learning experience more rich and convenient, College of Saint Mary offers courses in classrooms, online and a “hybrid” blend of both, depending on how your professor determines the learning is best imparted.

Many professors record their lectures so that you can access them later, viewing the lecture itself and the electronic presentations that were shown in the classroom to support the lecture. We were the first university in Nebraska to use this lecture capture system to aid in our students’ learning.

All CSM computers have Microsoft Windows, Office and Security.

Hardware (Desktops, Laptops or Tablets)

• Memory (RAM)–4GB minimum, 8GB or higher recommended
• Networking–Ethernet port or Wireless card
• Virus protection highly recommended
   

Operating Systems

• Windows 10 Home or Pro
   

Web Browsers

• Edge and Chrome are the only web browsers supported by CSM’s IT Department and are fully compatible with our campus systems. Citrix, which the My Apps link in MyCSM uses to provide access to program-specific applications for students, is only supported on Windows computers.
   

Software

• On the MyCSM Campus Services Institutional Technology (IT) site, links are available for special offers and discounts provided by CSM, such as Windows 10 Professional. Instructions are also posted for downloading and installing Office 365.
• We recommend contacting your academic advisor to see if there are any program-specific applications that you may be required to purchase.
   

Other Systems

• We recognize that you may opt to use other devices to access CSM resources. Please know, however, that various functions may not work properly and CSM IT can only help with Windows computers and tablets. Below are some limitations that you may experience:
